The Clinical Microbiology Application Specialist at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics plays a crucial role in providing technical assistance to the commercial team, which includes training and continuous support for microbiology equipment.
This role is part of the Microbiology division and offers a fully remote work arrangement. At Beckman Coulter, our mission is to continuously innovate healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
As a member of the Microbiology team, you will report to the National Sales Manager overseeing the Sales and Applications teams. If you excel in a dynamic, self-reliant technical position and are eager to contribute to a premier commercial organization, this opportunity is for you.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a subject matter expert in clinical microbiology, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of laboratory procedures, protocols, and best practices.
- Collaborating with the sales team to facilitate pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations, technical discussions, and customer training sessions.
- Delivering on-site or remote training to laboratory personnel on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of microbiology diagnostic instruments.
- Assisting clients in establishing and refining laboratory workflows for efficient and precise microbiology testing.
- Executing product installations, validations, and performance assessments at client locations.
Essential qualifications for this position include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Profound knowledge of clinical microbiology principles, techniques, and laboratory practices.
- Experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory, ideally with hands-on experience with microbiology diagnostic instruments.
- Strong communication skills, including proficiency in English, and excellent interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Capability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and succinctly.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in IVD industry application support.
- Familiarity with laboratory IT environments.
