Mission
Candriam is resolutely focused on enhancing its ESG capabilities. The ESG team operates with a broad mandate, collaborating with fund management to analyze corporate and country-specific environmental, social, and governance (ESG) opportunities and risks, integrating these insights into fund strategies.
This role presents a unique opportunity to join a leading and internationally recognized sustainable asset manager. We seek a motivated and intelligent ESG Analyst to undertake dual responsibilities encompassing both Corporate Equity and Credit Issuers.
Key Responsibilities
As an ESG Analyst focusing on Equity and Corporate Credit, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough research on corporate issuers regarding ESG risks and opportunities, utilizing Candriam's proprietary ESG analysis methodology.
- Contributing to the development and enhancement of Candriam's ESG Analysis and Rating framework at both sector and issuer levels, ensuring effective integration of ESG analysis into the investment process across equity and fixed income asset classes.
- Engaging with corporate issuers on pertinent ESG topics and collaborating with Candriam's Stewardship Team on joint initiatives.
- Working closely with fellow analysts and financial analysts within fund management teams to evaluate the materiality and financial implications of ESG factors on the long-term value of corporate issuers.
- Conducting research on ESG-related topics, identifying trends, and supporting ESG thought leadership initiatives both internally and externally.
- Producing and publishing ESG articles, reports, and presentations to serve our international offices and clients, focusing on Candriam's ESG processes or specific thematic issues.
- Actively participating as a member of the fund management committee for Candriam's diverse range of ESG Thematic funds.
Candidate Profile
Master's degree required.
A solid understanding of finance is essential, though it can be gained through experience. Experience in sustainable investing is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in ESG Research and/or financial analysis within an asset management firm, investment bank, or similar financial institution.
- A strong interest in and basic understanding of ESG topics and their relevance to financial market analysis, valuation, and risk modeling in both equity and fixed income.
- Ability to articulate ideas effectively.
- Excellent team player, eager to share knowledge and focus on collective success.
- Strong writing and communication skills (preferred language English).
- High energy level.
- Problem solver, organized, methodical, and pragmatic in approach.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Aptitude for data manipulation and analysis.
- Native proficiency in English or French (with high proficiency in English).
