About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled System Design Engineer to join our team at Airbus Helicopters. As a key member of our Design office, you will be responsible for the development and integration of In-Flight Entertainment & Electro Optical Systems (EOS) on various helicopter platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement operational concepts and use cases for entertainment & optronic systems
  • Develop and maintain system requirements
  • Ensure planning at equipment and helicopter level for development and qualification
  • Assess suppliers' offers with other stakeholders
  • Interface with project management, purchasing, sales department, and other project stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Manage suppliers during development phase
  • Support rig, ground, and flight testing of the equipment
  • Ensure the qualification/certification of equipment and the according functions
  • Apply agile development methodology
  • Participate in offer management and contributing to product sourcing policy
  • Benchmark our solutions with state-of-the-art optronic ones (e.g., in the field of augmented reality, laser technology, image processing)
  • Actively contribute to definition and execution of research and technology (R&T) activities and optronic systems product strategy
  • Support knowledge exchange within Airbus (all divisions)
Requirements
  • Academic studies in the field of Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, optical studies, or similar
  • Comprehensive experience in the design, development, engineering, and/or integration of optronic systems (e.g., Augmented Reality Systems, Enhanced Vision Systems, Electro Optical Systems, Targeting system) for aircraft
  • A previous experience in optronic systems (e.g., Augmented Reality Systems, Enhanced Vision Systems, Electro Optical Systems, Targeting system) development and integration in an airborne platform would be a plus
  • Knowledge in systems engineering, requirements engineering, and integration in the field of avionics
  • A previous experience with agile methodology (Scrum, SAFe) would be beneficial
  • Experience in Supplier Management
  • Team Spirit, good communication skills, and experience in stakeholder management
  • Language skills: English business fluent/negotiation level, knowledge of German, French, or Spanish would be an advantage
