Position Summary

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will serve as a key medical and clinical education resource for both external and internal stakeholders. Your role will support commercial objectives and reimbursement strategies for our product portfolio, particularly in the areas of breast and colorectal cancers. You will engage with healthcare professionals and collaborate with colleagues across medical affairs and commercial teams to provide scientific support for existing products and assist in the launch of new offerings in the international market.

Immediate objectives include fostering the growth of the Oncotype DX Breast Recurrence Score assay by delivering medical information and education through scientific dialogue with Medical Oncologists, Surgeons, Pathologists, and other healthcare professionals. Additionally, you will support the company's research and development initiatives and investigator-initiated studies aimed at improving treatment decisions for oncology patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product & Team Support
    • Educate the healthcare provider community, including key opinion leaders (KOLs), oncologists, pathologists, surgeons, nurses, and payors about Exact Sciences products in compliance with local regulations.
    • Act as a credible scientific expert on disease areas and Exact Sciences products at field meetings, medical conferences, advisory boards, and patient advocacy events.
    • Address unsolicited medical information requests regarding Exact Sciences products in a balanced and objective manner.
    • Collaborate in the development and execution of KOL outreach strategies.
    • Identify and map KOLs, stakeholders, and patient referral patterns.
    • Cultivate relationships with KOLs to expand research and educational partnerships.
    • Support medical-marketing initiatives, including conference planning, medical education content development, and sales training.
    • Work with medical directors to simplify complex medical messages for diverse audiences.
    • Stay informed on clinical developments and market trends to facilitate knowledge sharing within the medical team.
    • Assist in organizing advisory boards and speaker training sessions as needed.
    • Prepare and present medical review materials at national sales meetings and other relevant events.
    • Attend scientific congresses, summarize findings, and communicate key insights to stakeholders.
    • Analyze new clinical data and competitive intelligence, reporting findings to medical affairs and marketing teams.
  • Clinical Trials Support
    • Identify physicians managing breast and colorectal cancer patients and build a network of experts to enhance trial site identification and patient referrals.
    • Provide medical/scientific training to clinical study sites and contribute to the development of training materials for clinical trials.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Principal Investigators (PIs) and clinical trial sites to support enrollment and execution of Exact Sciences studies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a clinical specialty (PharmD, PhD, MD) with relevant clinical experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience as an MSL or in a senior clinical development role.
  • 3+ years of experience in oncology is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with knowledge of clinical research design and execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the diagnostics or biotech industry is advantageous.

Skills

  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation communication skills. Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other IT systems.
  • Familiarity with VEEVA systems is a plus.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality results independently and in a timely manner.
  • Strong teamwork skills.

Additional Information

  • Willingness to travel 60-70% of the time, which may include overnight and weekend travel.
