Overview:
The Lead Engineering Project Manager (LEPM) is a dynamic position that necessitates a blend of technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and proficient communication to oversee teams, resources, and stakeholder expectations. The primary objective is to pinpoint project prospects, serve as a crucial link between site operations and engineering centers, and ensure project delivery is achieved on schedule, within financial constraints, and to the requisite quality standards, all while prioritizing Health and Safety and aligning with the strategic goals of the organization.
Reporting Structure:
The LEPM will report directly to the Head of Nuclear Engineering, who will oversee regular updates on project performance and opportunities pertinent to the core scope of work. Responsibilities include weekly time tracking, approval of planned absences, annual evaluations, and ongoing performance assessments.
The LEPM will collaborate closely with the site management team to guarantee the effective and efficient execution of all tasks. Open communication between the LEPM and site management is essential, requiring complete transparency in all aspects of current and future projects.
The LEPM will operate within the Investment Delivery framework and will be responsible for managing the execution of projects and proposals in accordance with both organizational and operational protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in partnership with stakeholders.
- Schedule Management: Create and maintain comprehensive project timelines, ensuring milestones are achieved.
- Resource Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to secure necessary resources for successful project execution.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical personnel, fostering a collaborative environment for efficient project delivery.
- Technical Oversight: Supervise design and engineering processes, ensuring adherence to operational standards and project specifications.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison between the project team and various departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate their impact on project timelines.
- Budget Management: Develop and oversee project budgets in collaboration with commercial teams, ensuring financial accountability.
- Process Improvement: Implement best practices in project management and identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency and quality.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the project team.
