OverviewThe national strategy of France emphasizes the importance of Cloud technologies for maintaining sovereignty and security, aiming to enhance the country's competitive edge in the global market. This initiative is designed to foster the development of secure and sovereign Cloud solutions, in alignment with European efforts to strengthen digital independence. Key objectives include industry support, data protection, education, and collaboration across Europe.
The Cloud PEPR (Priority Research Projects and Equipments), established by the French government, is dedicated to advancing Cloud technology and aligning with the national Cloud agenda. This initiative is organized around a program overseen by strategic, scientific, and management committees, focusing on collaboration and contributions to technological progress.
The PEPR is scientifically oriented towards creating secure, interoperable hybrid clouds, innovative solutions for managing large data volumes, and distributed systems based on Edge Computing. Research areas encompass hardware considerations, lifecycle management of infrastructures and applications, security measures, and energy efficiency. It highlights the necessity for experimental infrastructure that supports comprehensive studies across software layers, complementing existing research Clouds.
ResponsibilitiesTo ensure project success, we are forming an operational management team that will include one manager, two project leaders, a management officer, and a communication manager.
This team will collaborate closely with the two PEPR leaders to guarantee the effective execution of planned actions and the ongoing assessment of scientific objectives in accordance with advancements in the scientific and technological landscape. This role involves engaging with both the academic and industrial ecosystems and promoting internal collaboration among various projects within the PEPR Cloud, as well as with other PEPR initiatives.
Furthermore, efforts will be made to showcase project results to industry stakeholders, including the implementation of strategies to foster interactions with key open-source communities involving major corporations and SMEs.
Key ActivitiesSpecifically, the Cloud Project Coordinator will:
- Oversee and validate project progress, ensuring compliance with specifications, participating in deliveries to confirm their conformity, and liaising with relevant authorities.
- Facilitate collaboration among different PEPR Cloud projects when appropriate.
- Build relationships with major open-source communities and industrial stakeholders to promote activities and keep PEPR Cloud projects informed about key challenges.
- Monitor EU Calls and encourage partnerships when suitable.
- Assist in organizing various PEPR events, including scientific days, industry meetings, and workshops.
- Contribute to the animation strategy within the PEPR and with other related PEPRs.
- Participate in drafting the PEPR Cloud newsletter.
- National and international travel may be required.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master's degree or equivalent (engineering school) or a doctorate in computer science.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a passion for communication, and an interest in scientific and IT domains.
- Excellent teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail in analyzing and synthesizing administrative data and project documents.
- A sense of responsibility and the ability to work autonomously.
- Familiarity with French and European funding opportunities and knowledge of the French public research sector is a plus.
- Partial reimbursement of public transport costs.
