Position Overview
We are seeking an individual with expertise in the semiconductor sector and substantial experience in sourcing semiconductor components.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the overarching procurement and supply chain strategy at F5.
- Formulate commodity strategies and lead cross-functional initiatives for semiconductor components, ensuring optimal cost, supply chain efficiency, quality, and timely deliveries.
- Oversee the RFx process for supplier selection, supporting new product introductions.
- Manage cost updates throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) development cycle and ongoing operations to maintain costs below target.
- Analyze market trends and data to develop strategies and pipelines aimed at achieving cost reduction objectives.
- Implement supply chain risk mitigation strategies through multi-sourcing and effective supplier relationship management.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and conduct quarterly business reviews to assess supplier performance and ensure ongoing strategic alignment.
- Address and resolve issues and disputes related to commodity procurement and delivery.
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations regarding commodity management activities and outcomes.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, regulations, and standards.
- Uphold F5's Business Code of Ethics and promptly report any violations of the Code or other company policies.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Project management proficiency.
- Expertise in sourcing and RFx processes.
- Strong data analytics capabilities.
- Negotiation skills.
- Experience with new product introductions.
- Contract management experience.
- Supplier relationship management expertise.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 12 years of experience as a commodity manager or in a similar role within the electronics product industry, with at least 5 years focused on managing semiconductor components.
- A Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Experience managing multiple semiconductor categories is a significant advantage.
- Experience collaborating with global contract manufacturers is a strong plus.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
