Your mission
The Global Projects Centre (GPC) is Subsea7's centre of excellence for the execution of the company's largest projects worldwide.
Within the Subsea Structures & Piping Design Department, you will be responsible for a Package of Structures and report to an Engineering Manager within a GPC Project. Your role will encompass the organization, coordination, and management of your Team's interfaces, provision of technical expertise, and ultimately accountability for Structural and Piping design activities to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering that meets both commercial and technical requirements.
As a specialist in Subsea Structures & Piping Design, you will serve as a reference for your Team and support knowledge management as well as technology initiatives related to the Structures & Piping Design Discipline.
As a leader, you will be expected to contribute to fostering a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Managing a package of structures within a Project under your supervision, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. Taking responsibility for design activities of high complexity, which may include providing engineering support to the Drawing Office, producing design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports, and various third-party submissions. Signing and issuing technical documentation as originator or checker, accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy. Providing specialist skills, integrity, and knowledge in key areas of Subsea Structures & Piping Design engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements, and current good engineering practices. Understanding Clients' needs, identifying and addressing design parameters and challenges, proposing, developing, and implementing solutions. Ensuring all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed. Representing the Company in meetings and correspondence with Clients, Subcontractors, and third parties from a technical perspective.Your qualifications
Engineer Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 8 years of experience in the SURF business, Oil and Gas, Subsea equipment, or Offshore Renewables structural design-related activities (steel construction & mechanics). Expertise in organizing and prioritizing your own and others' workload, managing time and change control accordingly, and directing team members where constraints may affect a project in terms of program or budget. Related experience at an equivalent level, including a period as a Senior Engineer, in Oil and Gas, Subsea equipment, or Offshore Renewables structural design-related activities. Strong knowledge and experience in steel construction structural design in general, in Naval architecture, in material strength, and permanent structures design (ILTs, PLETs...) is mandatory. Good knowledge of industry standards and design codes (AISC, API, ABS, BV, DNV, Eurocodes...). Competency in design and analysis software packages (Abaqus, ANSYS, SACS, NSO/ISYMOST...) is essential. Good knowledge of piping, connectors, valves, and forgings, as well as associated design codes and materials (steels, composites, plastics, and polymers in general), welding (processes, metallurgy, NDTs), and manufacturing & fabrication in general, with significant field experience being a real advantage to your application.
