We are seeking a skilled Freelance Translator and Editor to join our team at TransPerfect. As a Freelance Translator and Editor, you will be responsible for translating and editing various documents related to the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate and edit documents from English to French, focusing on technical and automotive terminology.
- Collaborate with our Project Managers to ensure timely completion of translation projects.
- Utilize CAT tools to streamline translation processes.
- Provide high-quality translations and edits, adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and native or near-native level proficiency in French.
- Specialized knowledge of technical and automotive terminology.
- Experience with CAT tools and translation software.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum weekly output: 15,000 words.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies, or equivalent degree with significant translation training.
- 2 years of translation experience and a college degree, or 5 years of translation experience and no college degree.
- Certificate of competence in translation awarded by an appropriate government.
