NES Fircroft is excited to collaborate with a prominent oil and gas organization seeking a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer for a pivotal project. This role is structured as a renewable contract, offering a flexible work schedule with opportunities for remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the issuance, evaluation, and endorsement of approximately 1,000 technical documents within the Civil discipline.
- Apply engineering standards and ensure quality assurance in the acquisition of materials, equipment, and services, maintaining adherence to effective engineering practices and cost efficiency.
- Guarantee compliance with all Project HSE standards, integrating safety into all Civil design operations and fostering a robust safety culture.
- Review deliverables focusing on Geotechnical and Hydraulics, including detailed engineering for underground structures, roadways, drainage systems, and concrete works.
- Provide expert guidance on Construction Material selection, testing, and approval processes.
- Collaborate with the Contractor's Civil Engineering site team to ensure effective coordination and resolution of issues.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with Civil design operations, working closely with Process Safety to implement necessary safeguards.
- Coordinate Contractor planning and execution, emphasizing Civil engineering tasks while being familiar with multidisciplinary engineering processes.
- Assist the Civil & Structural Lead in maintaining adherence to the technical aspects of the EPC contract during project execution.
- During site operations, promptly address Contractor inquiries and unexpected technical challenges, oversee the resolution of punch list items, and ensure the successful completion of on-site tests.
Work Environment
- Initially based in an engineering setting.
- Potential relocation to the site during construction phases upon completion of engineering tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Hydraulic, or Transportation Engineering.
- Fluency in English.
- A minimum of eight years of experience in the design and execution of oil and gas or large infrastructure projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable regulatory standards in international contexts.
- In-depth knowledge of standard engineering methodologies, technologies, and computerized design tools.
- Experience working within a project team of engineers, capable of adapting to both design and operational environments.
