LIGENTEC SA, a fast-growing European company based in Lausanne, Switzerland, is expanding its manufacturing capabilities with the establishment of LIGENTEC France in the South of Paris. As a leader in Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), we cater to high-tech areas such as Quantum Technologies, LiDAR, Space Technologies, and Biosensors.
We utilize our proprietary All-Nitride (AN) technology to enable customers to develop products in the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Our team is looking for a skilled Photonics Circuit Designer to support our continued growth.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for designing, simulating, and laying out integrated photonic components and circuits for strategic roadmap projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and simulating photonic components and circuits using industry-leading tools.
- Developing PDK/PCM building blocks, including design, simulation, layout, test planning, and data analysis.
- Collaborating with the 200mm characterization team to collect capabilities, design test structures, and support test planning and data analysis.
- Interacting with the 200mm process team and yield engineering to collect capabilities and requirements, design test structures, and support test planning and data processing.
A strong understanding of different photonic material platforms and experience with photonic layout and design tools are essential. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, applicants must possess:
- A Master's degree or Ph.D. in photonics or a related field.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in integrated optics design, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Solid understanding of different photonic material platforms.
- Experience with photonic layout and design tools, such as IPKISS and GDSFactory.
- Design experience with Lumerical and III-V active components.
- Strong programming and data analysis skills, with proficiency in Python and git.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
LIGENTEC SA offers a dynamic work environment, a highly international and diverse team, and opportunities for personal growth and development. We provide a competitive salary package, estimated at €70,000 - €90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
