As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing new solutions for product characterization, with a focus on steel product surfaces with coating.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in spectroscopy, surface characterization, and infrared technology. You will work closely with the research team to design and implement experiments, analyze data, and integrate solutions into industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop new solutions for product characterization, including spectral and hyperspectral approaches
- Make the link between industrial objectives and physical phenomena to be monitored
- Imagine and propose new solutions in the field of surface characterization
- Interact with academic laboratories and hardware suppliers to enhance competencies in spectral and hyperspectral solution integration
- Work in close partnership with teams in the Digital Technologies cluster and other ArcelorMittal research areas
- Engineer degree, Master degree, or PhD in relevant discipline (spectroscopy, surface characterization, infrared)
- First professional experience is not required but could be valuable, especially in research and development
- Knowledge/experience in spectroscopy, spectral analysis, data acquisition, and processing
- Knowledge/experience in programming languages such as Python
- Innovative, curious, and results-oriented
- Ability to run laboratory experiments and trials in industrial plant contexts
- Excellent social skills to work in project teams within a multi-cultural environment
- Ability to travel worldwide
- Fluent in English, French is a plus
