Saddleback Consulting Ltd provides specialized consulting and professional services to esteemed partners such as Juniper Networks, Palo Alto Networks, and Arista Networks. We are currently in search of a consultancy contractor for the role of Network Engineer focused on Arista Networks.

We are looking for an Advanced Network Services Engineer to deliver expert post-sales support to our clientele. Fluency in both French and English is essential. Candidates should be based in the region or open to relocation. EU passport holders are preferred.

In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert for Arista, offering insights in the routing and switching domain to design, implement, and support our Software-Driven Open Networking solutions tailored for high-performance Data Center, Campus, and Cloud Grade Routing environments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with various functions within Arista, as well as with clients and partners. This position is an initial contract with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced post-sales engineering support for Arista's Open Networking deployments across Data Center, Campus, and Service Provider networks, including cloud-based Wi-Fi solutions for large Service Provider accounts.
  • Evaluate customer network designs for VxLAN, EVPN BGP, and Lead-Spine architectures, offering deployment recommendations.
  • Facilitate migration or interconnection between Cisco, Juniper, and other vendor infrastructures to Arista.
  • Assist in configuration build-outs, including network provisioning automation using Python and tools like Chef or Ansible.
  • Support implementation and change control processes.
  • Conduct proof of concepts (POC) and thorough testing to validate design scenarios.
  • Provide bug scrubs and code recommendations.
  • Act as a liaison to TAC and internal development teams, as well as the customer.
  • Advise customers on architectural inquiries, product prerequisites, and features.
  • Translate complex business requirements into Leaf-Spine Network solutions.
  • Collaborate with Pre-Sales Engineers and Account Executives to design Network solutions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners.
  • Participate in partner events and training sessions, providing ongoing training to customer teams globally.
  • Engage in continuous training to maintain expertise.
  • Understand clients' business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for sales and clients.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment regularly.
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, partners, and clients.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory may be required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Network Industry certifications, including Arista Cloud Engineer (ACE) level 3 - 5, are desirable.
  • Over 5 years of networking experience with extensive hands-on expertise in routing and switching configuration and deployment.
  • Previous experience in designing high-performance Data Center and/or MPLS-based networks, with knowledge of leaf-spine architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical post-sales roles, preferably as a Network Consulting Engineer or Advanced Systems Engineer.
  • Expertise in Ethernet, VLANs, VxLAN, EVPN, IP Routing, BGP (Border Gateways), iBGP, eBGP, OSPF, Multicast, and QoS.
  • Proficiency in at least one area of Data Center technologies such as OpenStack, SDN, NFV, Load Balancers, Virtualization, or Linux tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry-standard CLI.
  • Ability to produce white papers is a plus.
  • Experience with Perl, Python, and scripting for network automation.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong written skills, capable of producing documentation and tracking opportunities.
