About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our Data, Software, and DevOps team. As a technical leader, you will oversee the development of our Python scientific engine, ensuring seamless integration with our business use cases. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our technical roadmap and driving innovation.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development of our Python codebase, collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Organize knowledge-sharing sessions (REX) to foster a culture of collaboration and expertise exchange.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and best practices, promoting a culture of excellence.
- Present progress and goals to stakeholders, providing transparent updates on project status.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap through architecture meetings and design documents.
- Lead and coach your team to deliver projects according to their roadmap, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Provide expertise to help your team develop, optimize, and update software for risk modeling, data collection, visualization, and export.
- At least 1 year of technical management experience, with a proven track record of handling human interactions between tech and business.
- Experience mentoring a team of software engineers, with a focus on code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and French.
- Solid knowledge of Python, with experience optimizing and profiling code.
- Experience in microservices architecture, Docker, and production development workflow.
