Overview of the Role

We are looking for a Commercial Director for the Food Sector in Western Europe to spearhead our strategic sales initiatives.

Your primary objective will be to formulate, execute, and oversee the sales strategies and operations for the Food division in Western Europe, ensuring that revenue, sales, and profit goals established by the organization are met.
You will set clear, attainable objectives for each team member aligned with the defined commercial strategy, ensuring that the right talent is in place to achieve these goals.
Ultimately, you will be responsible for delivering the commercial budget for the division.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing the commercial strategy for the business by market segment and region, while reviewing and advising on commercial policies such as pricing, product mix, and portfolio management.
  • Contributing to the integration of the overall Food Europe Strategy (5-year strategic plan).
  • Leading the commercial teams by establishing goals that align with the commercial strategy; monitoring sales performance; and adjusting strategies based on results and market conditions.
  • Providing leadership to Key Accounts and ensuring adherence to the established commercial strategy.
  • Collaborating closely with Marketing teams to foster a cooperative environment that drives global sales growth. Ensuring high-quality data is available for informed decision-making and delivering new product development to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Inspiring, motivating, and developing the team.

Your Profile

Functional Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of Packaging and Food industries with 15 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Master's degree in industrial or business engineering or economics.
  • Fluency in English and French; Dutch is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate effective relationships with international clients, coupled with strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong awareness of market opportunities for growth.
  • Exceptional communication skills with expertise in presentations.
  • Proven managerial and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to create and sustain high-performing teams.
  • Experience in risk assessment and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proficient in budget management and understanding P&L metrics.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
