Retail Design Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled In-House Retail Architect to lead our store design projects in Europe. As a key member of our store design team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive store design excellence and bring our LifeWear philosophy to new customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage store design work through all phases, from feasibility study to store management team's handover.
- Establish the budget with CAPEX and construction teams.
- Develop concept/schematic layouts to start projects.
- Work with store operations to define their requirements and develop suitable design-sets.
- Present and secure approval from senior management and Global HQ.
- Collaborate with construction and procurement teams to identify quantity and quality of Owner-Furnished Equipment.
- Sourcing and proposing cost-effective materials in line with store concept.
- Control handover conditions agreed with Landlord together with store development team.
- Identify scope of work for local architects and manage RFP from candidates.
- Manage all phases with local architect from schematic design to drawing/permit package.
- Supervise construction to bring design solutions to site conflicts and ensure code requirements and UNIQLO quality control standards are met.
- ~ Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or equivalent.
- ~5 – 7 years' experience in managing fashion store design projects ranging from standard stores to flagships (700sqm+).
- ~ Experience working in English with multi-cultural stakeholders and senior level executives.
- ~ Experience in negotiating and managing local architects.
