Thematics Asset Management
Thematics Asset Management, located in Paris, oversees a substantial portfolio exceeding 3.0 billion USD in client assets, focusing on a select range of global active thematic equity strategies. As an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers, a leading global asset management firm with assets under management totaling $1.02 trillion / €898.2 billion, Thematics was established by six partners in early 2019. Five of these partners are seasoned portfolio managers with a distinguished reputation and proven success in thematic investing. The firm operates with an entrepreneurial mindset, managing funds through fundamental bottom-up research and conviction-based stock selection as part of a structured investment approach.
Commitment to Responsible Investment
The Responsible Investment (RI) team is tasked with overseeing the responsible investment strategy at Thematics AM. This team defines the overarching RI strategy and ensures the implementation of sustainability-related policies across investment funds. Key responsibilities include: enhancing the sustainable investing framework, providing expertise to the investment team, reporting on ESG performance, and producing original thought leadership materials. Additionally, the team supports Portfolio Managers in ESG analysis and company engagements, monitors the evolving landscape of sustainable investment regulations and market developments, and contributes to ESG communication and marketing initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist the ESG team with daily operations and ongoing projects
- Collaborate closely with ESG and Climate specialists on RI policy development and improvements
- Provide essential support in company ESG engagements, including analysis, engagement, monitoring, and tracking
- Conduct data analysis for reporting and disclosure, as well as portfolio risk assessment
- Contribute to the creation of ESG-specific content for clients and marketing purposes
- Support Portfolio Managers with ESG-related research
- Help generate ESG thought leadership materials
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a post-graduate student, preferably with a background in sustainability, environmental science, or finance with a focus on environmental or social economics. Previous internship experience in ESG or sustainability research is advantageous. Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, advanced proficiency in Excel, and a keen interest in data analytics. Skills or a strong interest in design and digital marketing would be beneficial. A strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, multicultural environment are essential. A genuine interest in sustainable investing, independence, exceptional writing skills, and some familiarity with Excel and data analytics will be valuable assets for success in this role. The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, a proactive attitude, resilience, and a commitment to achieving results.
