This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the evolution of writing pedagogy in response to the transformative impact of artificial intelligence. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of writing education by integrating cutting-edge digital tools and methodologies into our curriculum.
Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver engaging courses within the English Writing Program, focusing on academic essay writing and critical analysis of diverse texts.
- Contribute to the Comparative Literature or Creative Writing major, as well as minors in Linguistics, Theater and Performance, Critical Theory, and Medieval Studies, by offering specialized courses aligned with your expertise.
- Maintain a robust record of scholarly publications that advance your field of study.
- Actively participate in departmental initiatives, including curriculum development, student advising, and fostering a collaborative academic environment.
- Contribute to the university's broader mission by engaging in committee work, interdisciplinary collaborations, and promoting intellectual discourse within the AUP community.
We seek candidates with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in a relevant discipline by the time of appointment.
- A proven track record of high-quality publication in reputable academic journals or books.
- Exceptional teaching experience at the undergraduate level, with a particular focus on writing instruction.
- Evidence of successful digital humanities pedagogy or research.
- Fluency in English. While fluency in French is not required, knowledge of multiple languages and experience in multilingual environments are highly valued.
