Position Overview:
The Financial Reporting Specialist will support the Accounting Manager in the formulation and maintenance of accounting standards, methodologies, and procedures to guarantee precise and prompt financial reporting.
This role encompasses the general ledger accounting and reporting responsibilities within the scope of the ACC Group (France, Germany, Italy).
Key Responsibilities:
Establishing Processes:
- Create a comprehensive working calendar for each entity to ensure timely execution of all tasks.
Financial Reconciliation:
- Develop a monthly balance sheet reconciliation and a profit and loss analysis to elucidate monthly variances in expenses and revenues for each ACC entity.
- Ensure that all documentation meets the necessary controls as per the closing procedures and is formalized and approved by the CFO quarterly.
Compliance Assurance:
- Guarantee that all documents and information are accurately recorded in the accounting system, adhering to local legal and corporate regulations.
- Assist local finance controllers in verifying compliance between physical and accounting inventory, and ensure all necessary documentation is available for external and tax auditors.
- Manage payroll entries and reconciliations, ensuring accurate posting of employee expenses and proper documentation.
- Adhere to monthly closing deadlines, ensuring timely posting of accruals, adjustments, and prepaid expenses, while explaining variances in the P&L and balance sheet.
- Support fixed asset management by controlling supporting documents and ensuring monthly reconciliations.
- Oversee the allocation of bank entries and supervise supplier payment account reconciliations.
- Conduct monthly VAT reconciliations and ensure proper posting of taxes.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Manage the service provider Grant Thornton regarding their daily and monthly general ledger tasks.
- Lead the formalization of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all supporting documents are provided by relevant stakeholders.
Contributions:
- Assist in establishing a robust fiscal calendar and manage fiscal returns and related accruals.
- Support external audits by providing necessary financial data.
- Collaborate with accounts payable and receivable management to ensure accurate VAT and withholding tax allocations.
- Facilitate reliable intercompany procedures, including invoicing justification and reconciliations.
- Work with finance controllers to implement a monthly review of recurring expenses for accruals.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in French GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- Strong consolidation skills.
- Solid understanding of ERP and consolidation tools.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in an international setting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (3-year degree), ideally CPA or equivalent.
- Fluency in French and English.
