In this position, you will report directly to the Managing Director of APM Terminals Poti as the Vice President of Terminal Operations. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding personnel and overseeing the operational functions of the Poti Terminal.

Key Responsibilities:
- You will be expected to contribute significantly to the terminal's business strategy within the scope of your role.
- This position will oversee the establishment and execution of primary operational initiatives aligned with the terminal's strategy.
- Develop and implement both short-term and long-term goals, objectives, plans, and policies for port operations and expansions.
- Continuously enhance the quality of existing operational processes and methodologies.
- Provide leadership and direction for terminal operations, ensuring effective management and safety of all operational staff.
- Play a key role in the selection, negotiation, and finalization of agreements with suppliers and customers, including the execution and maintenance of service level agreements.
- Ensure compliance of operational processes with health, safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with customs agents, trucking companies, port authorities, and other stakeholders to meet their requirements.
- Accountable for establishing and achieving the budget for the reporting functions.
- Ensure that the terminal adheres to APM Terminals' global standards for process and personnel development.
- Inspire, mentor, and guide all operational team members, structuring tasks and goals, establishing efficient action plans, and organizing information for effective daily operations.
- Support initiatives that promote continuous improvement in work processes and outcomes over time.
- Engage with labor unions (when applicable) and participate in long-term contract negotiations to ensure harmonious industrial relations with the workforce.
- Measure and report on operational performance, developing strategies to enhance key performance indicators.
Reporting Structure:
- Operations Manager
- Execution Manager (including teams)
- Planning Manager (including teams)
Stakeholders:
Internal: Terminal Management Team, All terminal employees in operations.
External: Port Authority, Contractors, Business Partners, Customers, Representatives of shipping lines, Labor Unions when applicable.
We seek candidates who possess:
- A university degree in logistics, maritime and port management, or process/industrial engineering is advantageous.
- Relevant experience in container ports, along with exposure to dry and liquid bulk operations, is a plus.
- Extensive experience in operations management within terminal environments is essential.
- A thorough understanding of the container shipping industry, including interactions with shipping companies and other industry stakeholders, is important.
- Proven expertise in cost and productivity optimization through process enhancements, as well as the design and implementation of new operational procedures, is required.
- Proficiency in English and the local language is desirable.
- Experience with financial matters, including budgeting and financial reporting, is necessary.
- The ability to achieve objectives while fostering a collaborative team environment and supporting staff development is crucial.
