Job DescriptionIn this context, the candidate mission will be dedicated to the establishment of a physiologically relevant in vitro 3D human gut-liver model. This model should allow us to study the metabolism and transporter activity of some gut-liver interactions, as well as the impact of a dual organ-on-chip platform on the pharmacokinetics, hepatotoxicity, and bioavailability of selected drugs, using multimodal and multiparametric approaches such as biochemical, metabolomic, imaging, etc.
Missions:- Provide a validated protocol for the culture of a gut-liver on-chip model.
- Investigate the in vitro gut-liver pharmacokinetics, safety profile, and/or bioavailability of drugs in development using the developed model.
- Publish at least one article on this model development and its validation.
- The candidate will be involved in various initiatives related to the development of the use of Organ on a Chip. He/she will be offered to attend a congress or training abroad.
- The candidate may be involved in the supervision of students.
We are looking for a PhD in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Physiology, Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, or a related field. A previous post-doctoral experience in Human Health, Physiology, or bioengineering would be appreciated. Experience in a field linked to human health, physiology, and/or bioengineering is required. Cell culture basis (primary cells and cell lines: knowledge, maintenance, microscopy) and in vitro experimentation are essential. Pharmacokinetic and/or toxicologic knowledge is appreciated. Experience with human hepatocytes and/or gut culture is appreciated. Knowledge in liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry, immunofluorescence, histology, enzymology assays, transporter activity assays, or RT-qPCR are a plus. Rigorous, with analytical thinking and curiosity. Ability to work within a team environment – team spirit. Ability to work independently. Good communication skills (English written/spoken fluently – French is a plus but not required). Faculty to adapt and open-mindedness. Sharing spirit / Transparency. Concise.
