Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Specialist to join our team at Imerys. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in geographical information systems and databases, with a strong background in geospatial engineering and experience in mining and geology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain GIS databases, files, and maps for various sites in France, ensuring accuracy and consistency in spatial data.
  • Collaborate with internal resources and external suppliers to compile, validate, and publish geographical information.
  • Create and export maps in different layers, including cadastral information, monitoring points, and environmentally protected areas.
  • Validate and update topographies, surveys, and elevation models, and convert GIS files to CAD and CAD to SIG.
  • Extract views from the GIS system for permitting applications, environmental studies, hazard assessments, and discussions with public infrastructure operators.

Requirements

  • Geospatial/Mining/Geology Engineering degree with a GIS qualification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in ESRI GIS software, QGIS, and CAD software, as well as familiarity with geospatial or mining software such as Surpac and Leapfrog.
  • Strong computer skills, including databases, cloud, and Google Suite.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and present technical information to non-technical audiences.
