Research Engineer - Quantum Optics

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team at Quandela, a leader in the development and commercialization of quantum computers based on the manipulation of single photons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build custom setups to address and characterize quantum emitters at cryogenic temperatures.
  • Implement advanced picosecond-pulse shaping and pulse sequences.
  • Develop characterization methods to probe quantum dots and their interaction with the solid-state environment.
  • Propose strategies to improve brightness and indistinguishability by optimizing both the device and optical excitation schemes.
  • Implement a research roadmap and ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Systematically document results and report findings through scientific publications and international conference participation.
  • Collaborate with production teams to transfer successful results.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a research laboratory, including a PhD.
  • Strong fundamentals in quantum optics and optical microscopy techniques.
  • Understanding of solid-state quantum emitters.
  • Proven ability to build and run complex optical experiments from the ground up.
  • Proficiency in software coding using Python or other common languages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
