About the Role:
The American University of Paris is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ACE Advisor to join our team. As an ACE Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting students in their career development journey, providing guidance on building a career trajectory, acquiring transferable skills, and preparing for the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide career advising, exploration, and coaching to students, helping them identify career pathways that align with their academic, co-curricular, and professional experiences.
- Assist students in preparing and implementing their internship and job searches, including resume and cover letter preparation, interview coaching, and job search strategies.
- Support students in preparing and implementing their post-graduate studies applications, including identifying programs of interest, navigating the application process, and writing application essays.
- Manage career services offerings to alumni, meeting with alumni to offer career counseling services.
- Coordinate internship programs, overseeing the internship and career advising assistant, and liaising with other offices as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers, identifying and reaching out to potential internship and job opportunities for students.
- Contribute to the development of new and existing Global Professional Skills (GPS) program elements, and lead or co-lead GPS workshops and group sessions.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience, preferably in a university environment or in career counseling.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's degree preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably also in French (C2, native French speaker would be a plus).
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office, databases, social media).
- Patient, friendly, and efficient manner with students; cross-cultural sensitivity, commitment to diversity and inclusion.
