Role Summary
We are seeking a qualified Lead Instrument Technician to oversee a team of Instrument Technicians responsible for the maintenance and calibration of various field instrumentation within the oil and gas sector.
The successful candidate will manage corrective and routine maintenance, periodic verification, calibration, installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and digital field instruments in accordance with established protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Report directly to the designated Maintenance Supervisor.
- Lead and perform maintenance on field instrumentation, ensuring all devices such as transmitters, control valves, and safety systems are operational and maintained to high standards.
- Ensure adherence to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) requirements and maintain accurate records of calibration and maintenance activities.
- Mentor and guide instrument technicians to ensure timely and quality execution of tasks.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and team members regarding job progress and challenges.
Candidate Profile
Experience and Qualifications
Educational Background: Minimum Higher Secondary School Education with a technical diploma or certificate in Instrumentation or Electronics from a recognized institution.
Relevant Experience: At least 10 years of maintenance experience, with a minimum of 8 years focused on field instrumentation in oil and gas processing, LNG, or petrochemical environments.
Technical Skills: Proficient in using SAP and familiar with standard Microsoft software packages.
Language Proficiency: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Job-Specific Requirements
- Expertise in measurement techniques for various process variables, including flow, temperature, pressure, density, and level.
- In-depth knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and digital instrumentation systems.
- Familiarity with vibration measurement and control systems for gas turbines and compressors.
- Ability to interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, and other technical schematics.
