About AXA
As a leading global insurance provider, we are dedicated to fostering human advancement by safeguarding what is essential. With a workforce of 153,000 across 54 nations serving 105 million clients, we have cultivated a dynamic and vibrant community. Our commitment to inclusion and diversity is integral to our values, and we strive to create a culture of mutual respect among our employees, clients, and the communities we serve. At AXA, you will have the opportunity to shape your work environment and grow your potential by exploring new opportunities and pushing boundaries.
About the Entity
AXA is transitioning into a sustainable, technology-driven organization, and AXA Group Operations is a key player in this transformation.
We lead the charge in evolving our insurance business model through technology and innovation, ensuring swift and high-quality implementation on a global scale.
Our presence spans 17 countries, supported by dedicated and highly skilled teams. We leverage technology, data, sourcing, security, and investment allocation globally while achieving economies of scale and synergies when needed.
At AXA Group Operations, we aim to excel in three primary areas:
- Advanced Data Technology to enhance customer experience.
- Innovative Procurement & Sourcing to improve efficiency and manage risks effectively.
- A High-Performing Global Team to strengthen partnerships with AXA entities.
Job Position Overview
If you are enthusiastic about identifying customer needs, managing feedback, and analyzing market trends, this role is for you.
As a Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the initial phases of product development, leading the discovery and prototyping of innovative solutions aimed at transforming the insurance landscape. Additionally, you will be instrumental in promoting the deployment of existing products to both internal and external clients.
Organizational Context
The Division
Within AXA Group Operations, the Group Emerging Technology and Data (GETD) department defines the Group's data maturity goals, builds and manages the community, leads research and expertise, assists less data-mature entities, identifies cutting-edge technologies, and develops disruptive applications.
The Team
In GETD, you will be part of the Computable Contracts team, which has developed a solution to make insurance contracts computable. Computable contracts bridge the gap between law and technology, operating on standardized digital models that are easily understandable by everyone, from legal experts to everyday customers and machines. This innovative approach to contract terms as machine-executable code lays the groundwork for automation, standardization, and simplification, positively impacting customer experience and operational efficiency. This strategic initiative has the backing of the Executive Committee. If you seek a meaningful role, possess an entrepreneurial mindset, and enjoy challenges, we invite you to explore this new venture.
Job Purpose
Your primary responsibility as a Product Manager will be to conduct discovery and delivery of new initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Computable Contract products or introducing new functionalities through:
- Research: Collaborating with the technical lead and UX/research designer to gather insights and understand the problem space while identifying potential solutions. This phase involves extensive exploration and analysis to define project scope and requirements.
- Proof of Concept: Engaging in the initial versions of a product or feature, which are crucial for testing ideas and concepts. Proofs of Concept validate assumptions, gather user feedback, and allow for rapid iteration before transitioning to full-scale delivery.
- Delivery: Overseeing the transfer of learnings to the delivery phase of the initiatives you have supported, including drafting detailed specifications, planning tasks, and identifying dependencies within the product roadmap. You will also monitor the planning and deliverables in collaboration with initiative leads.
Your secondary responsibility involves managing the roll-out of existing Computable Contract solutions to new clients, initially within AXA entities and subsequently to other market players.
For internal roll-out, this will entail:
- Identifying use cases and driving adoption within the most mature AXA entities.
- Accelerating and monitoring adoption within AXA efficiently (engagement, reporting, KPI collection, etc.).
- Structuring the internal roll-out process in conjunction with the customer success and delivery lead, while identifying necessary resources.
- Documenting the onboarding process for internal entities, including API integration.
- Scaling the adoption of Computable Contracts products within AXA by coordinating with a single point of contact in each interested entity and relevant global business community.
For external roll-out, the goal is to gauge the interest of P&C Retail insurers in AXA's Computable Contract solution, leveraging the most mature modules.
Additionally, you will support product management by contributing to the product roadmap through benchmarking, market analysis, and creating demos and sales pitches, as well as aiding in the communication of concepts related to computational law, computable contracts, and contract understanding for both internal and external teams.
Other Responsibilities
- Idea Generation and Exploration: Generating innovative ideas and exploring new technologies or methods applicable to the project.
- Feasibility Studies: Conducting feasibility studies to evaluate the practicality and potential impact of proposed ideas.
- User Testing and Feedback Gathering: Collaborating with the UX designer and initiative leads to conduct user testing sessions and gather feedback to validate assumptions and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Working with other product owners, product managers, designers, and developers to ensure alignment with user needs and business objectives, facilitating efficient delivery through regular communication and coordination.
Expected Skills & Experience
We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and skills:
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in product management.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in gathering and documenting customer requirements.
- Familiarity with product management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on business value, market trends, and customer feedback.
- Project management skills for overseeing initiatives and customer rollouts.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French or Spanish is a significant advantage.
- Independent, solution-oriented, and structured approach with strong analytical abilities.
- Capability to challenge oneself and others constructively.
- Ability to work effectively in an international and cross-functional team.
- Proficient in engaging autonomously with clients to address functional issues with empathy and efficient communication.
- Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- View new challenges as opportunities and focus on solutions rather than problems.
Optional Skills:
- Experience in regulated environments.
- Experience with projects utilizing Large Language Models or machine learning solutions.
- Experience in large-scale projects employing Agile methodologies.
- Experience in conducting market analysis and assessing competitor solutions.
