About the Role

The IT Systems Support Engineer plays a crucial role in the upkeep and configuration of our internal infrastructure, which includes computer systems, servers, and network frameworks. Your responsibilities will encompass the installation of hardware and software, as well as the ongoing enhancement of IT services to align with the evolving business requirements of our organization. You will be tasked with proactively addressing issues related to computer, network, and server systems to minimize operational disruptions both locally and globally. A focus on business continuity is essential. Collaborating with the broader team, you will work towards unifying and streamlining solutions across all regions while embracing IT modernization to enhance employee productivity. You will report to the IT Manager from a regional perspective and to the Global Digital Workplace Manager when assisting with global tasks.

As an IT Systems Support Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Transitioning from isolated services to integrated and simplified solutions across all regions, fostering a modern workplace environment.
  • Providing remote support for contemporary technologies across all offices, both locally and globally.
  • Continuously evaluating and enhancing the services provided to our business units in accordance with their regional needs and our global operations.
  • Managing the daily operations of all technology and telecommunication devices (hardware, software, servers, networks, internet, and telephony) through our IT Service Management processes (asset, incident, problem, and change management).
  • Overseeing the operation, maintenance, and expansion of the network infrastructure (Layer 2 - Layer 7), primarily utilizing Fortinet systems.
  • Developing and assessing technology-related projects, proposals, and reports as necessary.
  • Regularly reviewing current configurations and implementing improvements as required.
  • Ensuring the prompt and accurate resolution of incidents and requests in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Serving as an escalation point for team members.
  • Actively promoting exceptional customer service in all front-line service delivery, consistently seeking opportunities to enhance customer experience and satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience | About You

The ideal IT Systems Support Engineer will possess:

  • A degree in a relevant IT field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications such as Server + or MCSE are advantageous.
  • Three to five years of pertinent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Windows server roles (AD DS, AD FS, DNS, and DHCP) as well as networked workstations (LAN, WAN, WLAN).
  • The ability to manage a multi-domain environment.
  • Experience in network design for multi-office settings.
  • Knowledge of firewalls and switches (Fortinet) is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Experience with wireless networks and troubleshooting related issues.
  • Willingness to travel between offices as needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach while being prepared to make decisions.
