Il y a 3 mois

Paris, Île-de-France Wood PLC Temps plein
JOB OVERVIEW

The Control and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer will be an integral part of the engineering team located within the EPC contractor's offices, overseeing PCCI and HPC scopes. This role will report directly to the Lead C&I Engineer based in Paris on a daily basis.

The project execution strategy emphasizes maximizing off-site fabrication. The primary focus will be on delivering packaged C&I solutions while also providing support for static and rotating packages as necessary for the HPC and PCCI contracts. This includes large pre-assembled units, which may be engineered and fabricated by various companies across the UK and internationally. The complexity of packages will vary from straightforward off-the-shelf equipment to substantial pre-assembled units weighing several tonnes. Occasional travel will be required during the EPC phase to visit different package manufacturers and later to the project site.

  • Note: Candidates must possess the right to work in the EU and hold a valid work visa.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement comprehensive verification plans for C&I scopes within all vendor packages.
  • Ensure compliance of contractors and suppliers with PCCI and HPC contracts as well as project-specific codes and standards.
  • Review and verify key engineering deliverables from contractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to contractual scopes of work and project standards.
  • Manage deviations and performance issues as they arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee the C&I scope during vendor package procurement, including specifications, quality assurance, and performance management of contractors responsible for procurement.
  • Monitor contractor and C&I package supplier performance post-purchase order placement.
  • Review supplier compliance with project specifications and manage deviations and concessions during EPC.
  • Represent the C&I discipline in package model reviews, HAZOPs, LOPAs, and Alarm Rationalization workshops.
  • Contribute to overall plant HAZOPs and PHSSERs as necessary.
  • Provide C&I support for rotating equipment packages as needed.
  • Facilitate package integration into the Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS).
  • Identify and manage risks associated with C&I work scopes proactively.
  • Manage interfaces between various project scopes and verify the EPC contractor's management of internal interfaces.
  • Support the Lead C&I Engineer as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status is required.
Essential Experience and Job Requirements:

Extensive experience in a relevant engineering position focusing on C&I activities, including field instruments and control systems, as well as risk assessments.

Proven expertise in multi-discipline integration and contractor performance management.

Ability to make pragmatic decisions and challenge norms to ensure engineering value is achieved.

Desirable Criteria and Qualifications:

Experience in FEED/EPC environments on major projects.

Knowledge of power plant design and operations.

Familiarity with UK regulatory requirements, including pressure systems safety regulations and British standards.

Understanding of PED/PE(S)R for static equipment and the Major Projects Common Process (MPCP).
