Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist to join our team at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF). As a Scientist in Advanced Imaging Techniques, you will play a key role in developing and implementing cutting-edge image reconstruction methods for coherent 3D X-ray microscopy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced image reconstruction algorithms for coherent X-ray microscopy, with a focus on X-ray holography and near-field ptychography.
- Collaborate with our interdisciplinary research group to advance knowledge on fundamental principles of brain function and develop new neuromorphic computing architectures.
- Work closely with members of the nano-imaging beamline, ID16A, to access world-leading technology and instrumentation for hard X-ray synchrotron nano-imaging.
- Contribute to the ERC Brilliance project, aiming to resolve and analyze neural circuits in meaningful brain tissue volumes.
Requirements
- PhD in physics, electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or Octave.
- Experience with image reconstruction in coherent X-ray microscopy, particularly in holography and ptychography.
- Self-driven and collegial team player with a general interest in neurosciences.
- Proficiency in English (working language at the ESRF).
