INRIA is seeking a highly motivated intern to contribute to cutting-edge research in computational design for CMOS imagers.

This internship presents an exciting opportunity to delve into the world of artificial intelligence and its application in optimizing the performance of imaging devices. You will work alongside leading experts at INRIA, a renowned French national institute for computer science and control, and STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor manufacturer.

Your Role:

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of existing ANN-based reduced order modeling (ROM) techniques.
  • Develop a novel ANN-based ROM method specifically tailored for time-domain nanophotonics problems.
  • Implement the proposed method in Fortran 2003 and Python, focusing on three-dimensional parameterized electromagnetic simulations.
  • Rigorously evaluate the performance of the new ANN-based ROM method using benchmark problems.
  • Contribute to scientific publications documenting your research findings.

Required Skills:

  • Master's or engineering degree in numerical mathematics, scientific computing, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of numerical analysis techniques applied to partial differential equations (PDEs).
  • Basic knowledge of electromagnetic wave propagation physics.
  • Proficiency in Python and Fortran 2003 programming languages.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
