Job Description

Context and Objectives

As a research intern at INRIA, you will be part of a team developing advanced computational design methodologies for nanophotonics. Your mission will be to investigate the application of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) for reduced-order modeling in nanophotonics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Study existing ANN-based ROM methods and their applications in nanophotonics
  • Develop an ANN-based ROM method for time-domain nanophotonics
  • Implement the method in Fortran 2003 and Python
  • Assess the novel ANN-based ROM method using model problems
  • Contribute to scientific publications

Requirements

  • Master or engineering degree in numerical mathematics or scientific computing
  • Sound knowledge of numerical analysis for PDEs
  • Basic knowledge of physics of electromagnetic wave propagation
  • Proficiency in Python and Fortran 2003
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
