Job Title: Buyer: Logistics and Insurance

CIMMYT is a leading international organization dedicated to solving tomorrow's problems today. We are seeking a proactive, organized, and customer service-oriented professional to join our Buyers Unit as a Buyer: Logistics and Insurance.

Job Summary:

The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting sourcing of qualified providers for assigned goods and services, including furniture and office equipment, risk management requirements, and local and international logistics. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in international trade, business administration, finance, or logistics, and at least 3 years of experience in similar roles or positions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts sourcing of qualified providers for assigned goods and services
  • Identifies, proposes, and develops new providers of goods and services
  • Executes bidding/tender processes as required for competitive vendor selection
  • Establishes effective communication and collaboration process with internal clients, suppliers, and partner units
  • Negotiates the best terms possible with suppliers on all procurement transactions
  • Supports monthly and annual closing of POs in the institutional ERP
  • Follows up of delivery of ordered goods and services with the assigned suppliers
  • Coordinates with IMPEX specialist on the purchases of imported items
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in international trade, business administration, finance, or logistics
  • At least 3 years of experience in similar roles or positions
  • Advanced level in MS Office
  • Advanced level of English (written and conversational)
  • Knowledge of insurance matters will be considered as an advantage
