Procurement Specialist: Logistics and Insurance

CIMMYT is a leading international organization dedicated to solving complex problems in agriculture. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Buyers Unit as a Buyer: Logistics and Insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source qualified providers for goods and services, both locally and internationally, for categories such as furniture, office equipment, risk management, and logistics.
- Identify and develop new providers to meet CIMMYT's operating requirements.
- Execute bidding and tender processes for competitive vendor selection.
- Establish effective communication and collaboration with internal clients, suppliers, and partner units.
- Negotiate the best terms possible with suppliers.
- Request documents for purchase agreement execution and vendor registration.
- Create purchase orders and support monthly and annual closing of POs.
- Follow up on delivery of ordered goods and services.
- Coordinate with IMPEX specialist on imported items.
- Instill a service-oriented mindset in procurement operations.
- Support vendor evaluation and due diligence processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Finance, or Logistics.
- At least 3 years of experience in similar roles or positions.
- Advanced level in MS Office.
- Advanced level of English (written and conversational).
- Competencies: Organization, Critical thinking, Teamwork, Client Orientation, Problem Solving decision making, Negotiation and Conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of insurance matters is an advantage.
