Job Description

As part of the PEPR Network of the Future, the ANR FITNESS project is funding a Ph.D. program in the field of edge-to-cloud computing and vehicle interaction. The successful candidate will be part of a research team focused on developing innovative solutions for intelligent transport systems.

Context and Objectives

The increasing demand for infotainment, video streaming, and other services in vehicles has created new opportunities for resource sharing between vehicles and mobile devices. However, the heterogeneity of vehicles and devices poses significant challenges. The objective of this Ph.D. is to investigate the feasibility of deactivating resources at the edge, including base station antennas and edge node computing servers, to optimize resource utilization, reduce energy consumption, and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize research findings
  • Propose novel approaches and technical solutions
  • Design, test, and simulate proposed solutions using simulation tools and experimental platforms
  • Write research papers and reports
  • Present research works
Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a Master of Science or equivalent degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Strong background in statistical analysis and tools, mobile networking, and communication networks is required. Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and AI is also essential. Excellent programming skills and data visualization tools are necessary. Good English skills, both written and oral, are required.

Salary

1st and 2nd year: 2100€ gross/month

3rd year: 2190€ gross/month
