Company Overview
This organization is involved in the exploration, production, transportation, and marketing of crude oil and natural gas. It operates through various segments: Upstream, Downstream, and Corporate. The Upstream segment encompasses exploration, field development, and production of crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. The Downstream segment is dedicated to refining, logistics, power generation, and the marketing of crude oil, petroleum, and petrochemical products, along with related services for both international and domestic clients. The Corporate segment provides essential support services including human resources, finance, and information technology.
Position Summary
We are looking for a Safety Engineer to be part of the Loss Prevention division, which serves as the corporate safety entity. This division offers both day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety assistance to operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting services. Our offices are strategically located to serve all facilities and departments across the region.
As a Safety Engineer (Loss Prevention Engineer), your primary responsibility will be to provide ongoing support to company facilities and departments, ensuring effective implementation of the Safety Management System (Occupational & Process Safety) and compliance with all safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the execution of the Safety Management System by developing safety processes and participating in self-assessments.
- Conduct field inspections to evaluate compliance with safety codes and standards, identify safety issues, and propose practical corrective actions.
- Assess and recommend actions for critical safety tasks related to operational safety practices.
- Engage in safety studies and activities using risk assessment methodologies.
- Provide technical assistance during emergency situations and incidents.
- Participate in contractor safety management activities, ensuring compliance and performance measurement.
- Support the reporting and investigation of incidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Deliver specialized training on Loss Prevention to employees and contractors.
- Mentor junior Loss Prevention staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in safety roles within the oil and gas or petrochemical sectors.
- Extensive experience in both occupational and process safety.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively interact with peers and management.
- Proficient in producing clear and concise reports in English.
