Descartes Underwriting is seeking a highly skilled Claims Coordinator to join our team. As a Complex Claims Coordinator, you will play a central role in coordinating a wide range of claims across all of our branches, geographies, and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate all parties involved in claims handling, including external stakeholders such as brokers, clients, lawyers, reinsurers, and adjusters, as well as internal teams such as legal, risk, underwriting, and finance.
- Develop a deep understanding of Descartes' structure and offering, including our insurance activity and MGA structure.
- Liaise with international parties, taking into account cultural and language specificities, as well as international legal frameworks.
- Grow a network of partners to build our claims handling capabilities related to our growing product range.
- Participate in the design of outstanding, tech-driven claims handling processes to deliver the best client experience in the BtoB space.
- Masters' degree from Law school, Engineering school, or Business school with a legal major.
- 3-7 years of experience in a claims-related position, preferably from a loss adjustment firm, brokerage claims team, or insurance company claims practice.
- Fluency in English and French (written and verbal communication) is required, with a good command of one additional language valued.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical capabilities, and financial acumen.
- Results-oriented, high energy, and self-motivated, with the ability to work in a dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
