At Applied Materials, we are seeking a skilled Semiconductor Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Installation team, you will be responsible for the installation of semiconductor tools across the European Region.

As an Installation Engineer for Advanced Technology, you will be working with cutting-edge systems and manufacturing processes for semiconductor technology, electronics, and display technology. Your primary focus will be on the installation, assembly, connection, and testing of new systems until they are handed over to the service team and our customers for the manufacturing of wafers.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Performing independently tool installation tasks, including mechanical assembly, electrical connections, and robot calibrations.
  • Following all checklists and procedures to ensure correct procedures and schematics are available prior to performing work.
  • Testing equipment with assistance from senior engineers, existing documentation, and diagnostic techniques.
  • Responding to fab issues by communicating with other engineers and participating in escalation conference calls.
  • Participating in continuous improvement projects to reduce installation cycle time and costs.
  • Providing accurate reporting of status, hours worked, and non-conformances.
  • Adhering to the security policy and quality standards of Applied Materials and its customers.

Requirements for this position include:

  • A technician, bachelor's, or master's degree with a technical background in mechanical assembly, equipment installation, maintenance, mechatronics, electronics, electrical, mechanical, or similar.
  • Some experience or knowledge with Applied Materials CVD/CMP/EPI tools would be an advantage but is not required.
  • Troubleshooting skills to solve mechanical and electrical issues during system installation.
  • Ability to communicate daily pass-downs and equipment status reports.
  • Project management skills to control installation projects within budget, timeline, and installation quality requirements.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Confident in English to work with colleagues and experts from all over the world and to read plant documentations and schematics. Company language is English.
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • The position requires extensive traveling throughout Europe, up to 90%.
