The civil engineering sector plays a crucial role in ensuring national infrastructure and safety. We are looking for skilled individuals who are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a diverse engineering team across multiple disciplines.
- Assist the Project Manager in overseeing consultants and contractors.
- Collaborate closely with the BIM/CAD team.
- Identify and define project functional and stakeholder requirements.
- Gather and develop user/system requirements.
- Create detailed work scopes.
- Provide engineering support throughout project phases.
- Facilitate the project optioneering process.
- Review and approve project drawings and documentation.
- Manage detailed design processes in compliance with established standards.
- Conduct technical assessments and approvals of contractor work instructions and risk assessments.
- Offer technical oversight during construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Specify and supervise commissioning and decommissioning processes.
- Engage with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure effective delivery.
- Adhere to all Environment, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality policies and procedures, promoting continuous improvement in these areas.
- Lead meetings and design reviews.
- Prepare and present engineering-related presentations.
- Address technical inquiries and resolve engineering challenges.
Project Interfaces:
- Framework contractors.
- Consultant design teams.
- Site stakeholders.
- Original equipment manufacturers.
- Project management, commercial, cost, project controls, and risk teams.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or the ability to achieve chartered status through continued professional development.
- Experience in project engineering, particularly in regulated environments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of compliance with industry legislation and standards.
- Experience in producing technical documentation, including reports and specifications.
- Proficient in liaising with a variety of stakeholders.
- Basic health and safety training for site engagements.
- Familiarity with nuclear safety cases is desirable.
