The American University of Paris is seeking applications for a full-time, permanent role in the Department of Economics & Management at the rank of Lecturer in Accounting and Management Studies. A doctoral degree in Accounting or a closely related field such as Management or Business Administration is essential. Candidates with a Master's degree in Accounting or a related discipline, along with relevant experience and/or professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, MBA) may also be considered. Additionally, applicants who have completed their doctoral coursework but have not yet defended their dissertation may be eligible.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a history of or potential for excellence in teaching, service to the academic community, scholarly research, professional engagement, and contributions to publications in accounting, management, or related fields. Responsibilities will include teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in financial and managerial accounting, as well as courses in additional areas of expertise.
We encourage applicants with experience in a liberal arts setting and an interest in contributing to the core curriculum in areas such as digital literacy, writing across disciplines, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary first-year courses to apply. Faculty members at AUP are expected to be committed to liberal arts education within a diverse international context and to engage in interdisciplinary teaching and research. The university provides support and mentorship for new faculty members. Class sizes are typically small, averaging around 20 students. A course release is available during the initial year of appointment, and salaries are competitive within the French academic landscape.

About the Economics & Management Department:
The Economics & Management Department is committed to providing an interdisciplinary and international educational experience that encourages students to explore diverse perspectives and critical thinking methodologies. With an emphasis on reflective and ethical approaches to contemporary economic and management issues, students are being prepared for advanced academic pursuits and their future careers. Our diverse faculty brings a wealth of academic and professional experience, dedicated to creating engaging and rewarding classroom experiences. The department offers five majors, six minors, and a Master of Science in International Management, along with a joint MSc program in Strategic Brand Management in collaboration with the Department of Communication, Media, and Culture, as well as a five-year BA/MSc program.
