We are seeking a Financial Control Manager for the Western region, responsible for overseeing the financial management and accounting functions across Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Accounting and Controlling teams in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and accounting standards for both entity and group reporting.
- Oversee internal control measures in accordance with SOX regulations.
- Drive and engage in projects aimed at enhancing financial reporting and operational efficiency (including SAP implementations and PSCI migrations).
• Supervise month-end closing processes and reporting for the respective entities, ensuring accuracy in financial data for internal and external reporting.
• Validate and authorize financial journal entries in alignment with local and US GAAP standards, with a focus on France.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions in France.
• Assess financial implications in legal agreements, contingencies, and revenue recognition per local and US GAAP.
• Implement and maintain internal control processes for SOX compliance.
• Conduct research on technical accounting matters to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Lead initiatives related to financial reporting and process improvements.
• Liaise with both internal and external auditors.
• Oversee reporting functions within the ERP system.
• Authorize banking transactions and payments.
• Ensure timely submission of periodic and annual tax filings.
• Comply with additional statutory reporting obligations (e.g., social security, Banque de France, Insee).
• A university degree (or equivalent experience) coupled with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a large corporate setting, demonstrating a successful track record in addressing business challenges.
• Proficiency in both English and French.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with SOX compliance controls.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work accurately.
• A proactive self-starter capable of working independently to meet deadlines for reporting and projects.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a diverse team.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a remote team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
