D2m Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer specializing in Offshore Projects to contribute to the Basic Design phase of a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit.
Position Overview:
Our organization is a leader in providing innovative floating production solutions within the offshore energy sector. We manage a significant fleet of FPSOs, which have recently reached production milestones exceeding 1 million barrels of oil daily.
Based in our engineering office, you will focus on the Basic Design of the FPSO hull .
As the Structural Lead Engineer, you will oversee the delivery of hull structural designs and calculations, ensuring compliance with Class Rules and Client specifications. You will lead a team of approximately 10 structural engineers, coordinating their workload and project timelines. Your role will involve reviewing team outputs and ensuring high standards of technical quality and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise in hull structures will facilitate the application of advanced design principles and methodologies, playing a crucial role in delivering a compliant and cost-effective hull that meets client expectations.
We are looking for candidates with an MSc or BSc degree, or equivalent professional certification, in Offshore Structures or Naval Architecture , with a focus on structural analysis of both global and detailed hull structures. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in structural design is required.
Additionally, you should possess:
- Proficiency in structural analysis of comprehensive hull structures.
- Knowledge of classification society regulations (e.g., ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyds).
- Experience in the engineering and design of floating units within the oil and gas sector.
- Ideally, familiarity with structural interfaces related to mooring structures, topsides, and other equipment.
- Preferably, experience with FEMAP finite element software and Class software.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in significant offshore engineering projects.
