About the Position

INRIA is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) applied to electromagnetic wave propagation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop innovative numerical simulation techniques and advance our understanding of complex electromagnetic phenomena.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive literature review on the application of PINNs for modeling wave propagation.
  • Investigate and simulate wave propagation in both 2D and 3D scenarios, utilizing Helmholtz-type partial differential equations (PDEs) and Maxwell's equations.
  • Develop and evaluate novel NN-based surrogate models for efficient electromagnetic simulations.
  • Collaborate effectively within a research team and contribute to the publication of scientific findings.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in numerical analysis, machine learning, and fundamental physics principles. Proficiency in Python programming language, along with experience in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, is essential. Excellent communication skills and fluency in English are highly valued.

Compensation

Gross monthly salary: €2082 (Years 1 & 2) and €2190 (Year 3).
