Dailymotion is seeking a skilled Video Optimization Specialist to join our engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and building advanced video features to provide an exceptional user experience across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement video optimization strategies to improve video playback performance and other video-related functionalities.

  • Experiment with video streaming optimizations through proof-of-concept (PoC) and provide recommendations for industrialization.

  • Provide technical analysis on new video codec implementation possibilities and their potential gains.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless video experiences across all platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of video file formats, video metadata, streaming protocols, and optimizations (HLS/Dash/SRT/RTMP/Smooth).

  • Experience with native video development on iOS and Android platforms, including NDK (Native C++ on Android) / Swift / Objective-C.

  • Proficiency in common video tools (ffmpeg, mediainfo, etc.) and video codecs (H264/H265, GOPS, KeyFrames, etc.).

  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team.

  • Self-motivated to explore new technologies, apps, tools, and frameworks.
