JOB CONTEXT:

The mission of the 3i Division is to guarantee the quality and ongoing enhancement of operations. It promotes an agile methodology for identifying and defining the processes and practices necessary to design, manage, and develop social missions and interventions. The division supports the growth of skills and the evolution of practices among staff and operational partners, contributing to the establishment of an innovative and learning organization across all contexts of intervention and activity.

The 3i Division consists of over 10 professionals dedicated to supporting various aspects of this mandate for Humanity & Inclusion programs. It includes five units: MEAL Unit, Data Unit, Innovation Unit, Research Unit, and Transversal Approaches Unit.

YOUR MISSION:

This role aims to initially create and evaluate a cross-sector methodology to assess the outcomes of HI projects concerning the inclusiveness of services, followed by the development and dissemination of guidance on this methodology.

Main Responsibilities:

Task 1: Design Phase:

  • Develop an initial version of the methodology to evaluate service inclusiveness.
  • Review relevant project documents (working group minutes, steering committee decisions, seminar reports) and conduct interviews with key informants to understand the key stages and decisions made during the project's initial phase.
  • Utilize existing HI tools and external methodologies to ground the new methodology in established practices.
  • Based on recommendations from the working group and steering committee, create a methodological note detailing (1) the development process of the methodology and (2) the testing approach.
  • Facilitate the working group and ensure consistent follow-up with the study steering committee.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure the feasibility and relevance of the developed work.

Task 2: Testing Phase:

  • Identify two countries for methodology testing.
  • Organize and oversee testing in both locations (including data collection planning and recruitment/training of local assistants as necessary). At least two field missions will be required.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards during the testing phase.
  • Obtain all necessary administrative approvals for conducting the research.
  • Analyze collected data and make adjustments to the methodology as needed.

Task 3: Uptake Phase:

  • Produce guidance documentation outlining how and when to utilize the developed methodology.
  • Facilitate workshops or webinars to share key findings in the two research countries and more broadly.
  • Contribute to internal communications by presenting ongoing work and newly produced resources through articles and presentations.

Task 4: Administrative and Budgetary Follow-up:

  • Assist in managing the project budget.
  • Ensure implementation adheres to administrative, time, and financial requirements.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Master's degree in social sciences or health with demonstrated experience in conducting field research related to outcome measurements.
  • Proven experience in research project management with a strong emphasis on monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience working in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Proficient in collecting, processing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Fluency in both English and French.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with various stakeholders.
