Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Diabetes Care Nurse to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing comprehensive diabetes management and education to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient education and information on diabetes management techniques.
  • Lead group education sessions for patients with diabetes.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to nursing students and trainees.
  • Monitor patients' clinical conditions, including blood glucose levels and other relevant parameters.
  • Utilize specialized diabetes-related software for patient data management.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of gestational diabetes and its management.
  • Perform specialized wound care procedures for diabetic patients.
  • Administer insulin therapy safely and effectively.
  • Manage the ordering and inventory of medical supplies required for diabetes care.
  • Participate in teaching activities to enhance the knowledge of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

  • Possess a strong foundation in diabetology-endocrinology principles.
  • Have a basic understanding of cardiology, nephrology, and neurology concepts.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with various diabetes treatments and management strategies.
  • Exhibit proficiency in managing hypo/hyperglycemia situations effectively.
  • Possess experience in diabetic foot care and the management of neuropathic pain.
  • Maintain mandatory training updates to ensure current knowledge and best practices.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree required.
