Data Governance Specialist

The Data Governance Specialist will play a key role in developing and implementing the Data Governance framework across the organization.
She/he will work closely with stakeholders (Data Domain owners, Data Stewards), oversee data catalog operations, ensure accurate data lineage, and lead initiatives to populate and maintain the data catalog.
Key Responsibilities:
# Participate in the roll-out of the company's Data Catalog, supporting various data domains to completion in terms of data definition, storage, lineage, and usage.
# Train and encourage data domain owners and data stewards to populate and maintain the data catalog.
# Animate workshops to align and validate definitions across different data domains.
# Liaise with application owners and data stewards to gather and link data sources with the glossary.
# Draft and implement metadata management policies.
# Assist in the integration of data products documentation into the data catalog.
# Serve as the focal point for all processes related to the data catalog.
# Contribute to gamify the data catalog to popularize its usage.
# Set Key Performance Indicators and monitor the implementation of the data catalog.
Requirements:
# Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or business education with a focus in data management or a related field.
# 2+ years of experience in data management/Governance.
# In-depth knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and data classification.
# In-depth knowledge of data catalog tools (Data Galaxy, Collibra, Altan etc.).
# Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with business stakeholders and external partners.
# Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver high-quality work.
# Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
# Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
