Head of Sustainability

Digitsonly is committed to pioneering sustainability in every aspect of our operations and products. We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Head of Sustainability to join our team and drive our mission to reduce emissions, enhance transparency, and foster ethical supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Sustainability: Conduct lab tests and analyze results to ensure product sustainability, ensuring compliance with EU Ecolabel and B Corp standards.
  • Quality Marks and Certifications: Research and apply for quality marks such as EU Ecolabel and B Corp, and suggest necessary improvements to enhance our sustainability credentials.
  • Supplier Agreements: Review and document sustainability agreements with suppliers, including labor practices, environmental policy, and ethics, to ensure alignment with our company values.
  • Emissions Calculations: Calculate product and shipping emissions, and propose reduction strategies to minimize our carbon footprint.
  • Claims Substantiation: Refine website communication with accurate and transparent sustainability data, ensuring that our claims are substantiated and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Sustainability Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with company goals, driving innovation and continuous improvement in our sustainability practices.
Requirements:
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive Approach: Demonstrated ability to drive projects independently, taking initiative and seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in tasks and ability to spot inconsistencies, ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of the role.
  • Dutch Fluency: Native Dutch speaker for effective communication and documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • B Corp Experience: Successful application for B Corp certifications in the past, demonstrating expertise in sustainability and social responsibility.
  • 3+ Years in Sustainability: Minimum 3 years of experience in the sustainability field, with a proven track record of driving sustainability initiatives and achieving results.
  • Innovative Thinking: Ability to develop creative solutions for sustainability challenges, thinking outside the box and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication to articulate sustainability initiatives, engaging stakeholders and driving buy-in.
  • E-commerce Specialization: Experience in sustainability within the e-commerce industry, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this space.
