We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineering Head to lead our site engineering and maintenance organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, executing, maintaining, and enhancing engineering procedures related to buildings, equipment, utilities, energy, and environmental sustainability.
About the RoleThe Site Engineering Head will be part of our Site Leadership Team and will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining a technical site strategy plan, including capital expenditures, equipment recapitalization, obsolescence management, and budgeting.
- Setting objectives and proactively managing the performance of the Engineering department.
- Ensuring the availability of competent, high-performing people and developing the talent pool.
- Ensuring the inspection readiness of the Engineering department and supporting audits and inspections.
- Establishing cost-efficient repair and maintenance processes in compliance with local regulations, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Accounting for technical availability, reliability, and condition of production plants and infrastructures.
- Defining and executing an asset strategy and proper asset lifecycle management.
- Supporting innovation, data, and digital site initiatives, and state-of-the-art technology to support productivity.
- Developing a strategy and framework to manage vendors and contractors, ensuring the best service at a competitive cost.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.) or equivalent.
- Leadership experience, including line management of large groups and/or successful project management of major investment projects.
- Excellent project management skills, including contract management and project appraisal/financial knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively present complex ideas and solutions to executive management, technical experts, and regional/local teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills to liaise and collaborate with global partners.
- Strategic thinking, ability to embrace and facilitate change, and a pragmatic and committed approach.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Ideal in-depth technical knowledge in chemical and/or pharmaceutical processes and equipment.
