At Piper Maddox, we are seeking a highly skilled Grid Manager to join our team in Paris, France. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in the technical aspects of grid connections throughout various stages of project development, construction, and operation.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and secure grid connections for large-scale onshore wind, solar PV, and BESS projects in collaboration with Project Developers and Project Managers.
- Provide strategic guidance and advice to the Project Team throughout the grid interconnection application process, covering stages such as point of interconnection identification, indicative grid solution request, grid capacity reservation confirmation, and grid connection agreement/offer.
- Conduct internal feasibility studies and oversee third-party electrical studies related to projects under development.
- Support due diligence for projects and contribute to the formulation of economical and feasible solutions aligned with the requirements of DNOs and TSO.
- Stay informed about emerging grid technologies and lead our understanding of new innovations, technology, techniques, and tools relevant to utility-scale project connections.
- Coordinate communication with external project participants, especially landowners, communities, public institutions, and other relevant third-party experts involved in the grid connection process.
- Electrical Engineering background (Power Systems, Electronics or comparable)
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electrical management and grid connection of renewable energy power plants, preferably in technical management or service roles.
- Comprehensive expertise in grid connection rules, including grid compliance and the grid connection request process.
- Proficient understanding of onshore technologies, encompassing solar, wind, and batteries, as well as cable corridor route selection and export connections.
- Familiarity with the components and technical equipment usually installed in large-scale onshore wind farms and PV plants.
- Proficient and confident with Office application (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Outlook)
- Fluent spoken and written communication in French and English
- A sense of responsibility, resilience, flexibility, and willingness to travel nationally.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Class B driver's license
