Job Title: Director, Financial Planning
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of R&D Finance to join our team at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals Inc. This is a key position that will provide financial leadership to our external partnerships and collaborations, as well as support the forecasting of our Collaboration and Royalty Revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide financial leadership for our alliances, working closely with R&D expertise areas, program teams, Alliance Management, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Track potential strategic and operational financial risks related to our alliances and partner with internal stakeholders to address problem areas.
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting for Collaboration and Royalty Revenue, developing associated materials for key internal stakeholders, including the CFO and the Board of Directors.
- Develop and maintain tools and processes to support the group's current needs while scaling for future growth.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on opportunities to enhance or improve existing processes and reporting for Alliance Finance and Collaboration and Royalty Revenue, successfully implementing changes where appropriate.
- Develop strong relationships with key members of the Global Finance organization and support special projects and ad hoc analyses as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or other degrees with a quantitative focus, business, and business insights preferred.
- 8+ years of work experience in a combination of FP&A, accounting, valuation, and/or other strategic finance roles.
- 4+ years of work experience in the biotech/pharma industry, R&D experience required.
- Prior experience providing financial support to external partnerships and collaborations strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to pivot between high-level strategic discussions and operationally executing on deliverables.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with multiple functions and stakeholders of various levels of seniority.
- Proven ability to work with a high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Maintain a positive, flexible, client-service attitude with business teams.
